Uttar Pradesh is a state in northern India. With roughly 200 million inhabitants, it is the most populous state in India as well as the most populous country subdivision in the world.

  So, if we talk about Smart City Mission in INDIA, there are total 12 cities under Smart City Mission in UTTAR PRADESH.

1. Moradabad
2. Aligarh
3. Saharanpur
4. Bareilly
5. Jhansi
6. Kanpur
7. Prayagraj
8. Lucknow
9. Varanasi
10. Agra
11. Rampur
12. Padrauna

The Centre has released nearly Rs 9,940 crore to the states so far for the Smart Cities Mission

Uttar Pradesh with 12 cities received Rs 547 crore.


Each smart city would get a Central assistance of Rs 100 crore per year for five years.

"If we discuss about work done under smart city mission in Uttar Pradesh it is a very big task to implement all scheme in all cities.
No doubt, there are some work has been implemented in major cities like Lucknow, Agra, Prayagraj and Varanasi. but that is not enough, gov. have to know basic development need of other cities and work on them."
